New Strategies for the Management and Care of Patients with Gout– An estimated 6 million people in the U.S. are afflicted with gout and at least 15 million people are affected worldwide. Prevalence has been rising steadily over the last 20 years, due to the increased longevity of the population, as well as dietary changes and increases in obesity.
This interactive case-based activity will educate participants on the risk factors for developing gout along with the latest management strategies and pharmacologic options to improve patients’ long-term outcomes.
Examine the risk factors and comorbid conditions associated with gout. Discuss the optimal treatment strategies and therapeutic options with the goal of improving long-term patient outcomes.
